Text reads: During the morning of July 5th, 1960, Kenny Roth - Pilot - and Bob Skates - Copilot, were spraying timber south of Belgrade with the Johnson Flying Service C-47/DC-3C, NC-49466. Suddenly, they hit severe turbulence. The aircraft was tossed upside down and the tail brushed against a cliff, tearing the tail wheel loose. Kenny managed to land the plane at Bozeman. The wheel was located in July, 2001, 41 years after it left the plane. Tom Nagorski of Belgrade is the one who recovered it near the banks of Galletin (sp) River and had the wheel delivered to the Museum of Mountain Flying.
