The Circling Approach by Ralph Butcher

The circle to land contains the worst elements of instrument flying -- minimum obstruction clearance, limited maneuvering room, minimal or misleading visual clues, and distractions in and outside the cockpit. It is a maneuver that leaves no room for error.
