This is a grand loop and a great saturation in mountain cross country flying. Leaving Gallatin Field we head north to enjoy the local Bridger range. From there, head east/northeast to Wilsaw air strip and continue to the majestic Crazy Mountains. From the Crazys we head northwest to White Sulphur Springs airport, then along the Big Belt mountains, taking in Canyon Ferry reservoir, Holter Lake, and the Gates of the Mountains recreation area, swinging west, crossing the Continental Divide and on into Lincoln airstrip. Heading south takes us to Garrison and Deer Lodge, then to Butte airport. Eastbound, we again cross the Divide and follow the interstate to Three Forks and the headwaters of the Missouri River before returning home.
