03 May 2002: This is the Gallatin Range from down the Madison Valley. There are many factors to consider when traveling afar in mountainous country. Not only can the weather change from drainage to drainage. Compounding the difficulty is the lack of weather reporting stations across miles of backcountry. I had flow with this client on several occasions. We briefed thoroughly on weather, hazards, and options. We knew the route expertly. And diverting or returning was always an option - we did not have to get to Driggs.
