GPSS integrates the autopilot with a GPS navigator function which outputs roll steering commands. GPSS does not follow a CDI needle movement; it flies direct right/left steering commands from the GPS for extremely accurate, hands off GPS navigation.
In GPSS mode the autopilot will accept the steering commands from the GPS unit without any further input from the pilot. While in GPSS mode, the autopilot annunciates NAV GPSS.
The lighted panel switch selects GPSS or Heading mode. Note that if a valid roll steering command is not available, GPSS will not activate and this will be indicated by a flashing GPSS light.
